bio

This biography is currently on automatic. Therefore, you get to read all about the triumphant acheivements of white plastiq written... by white plastiq. Yes, the great white plastiq himself is writing his own biography, which means you get to read everything that he says is great and note-worthy about himself.

Uh... yeah. Well, whatever. I feel like writing an autobiography for my website could easily make me look very cocky and probably will, but I'm going to try to stick to things that I think are important, interesting, humorous and otherwise factual. I don't usually brag a lot (only a little bit) and when I find myself doing so, I stop myself... usually.

Now what... Oh, I know. Fans usually want to hear about inspirations. Here are the artists who inspired me to do music in the first place:

  • Skinny Puppy
  • Nine Inch Nails
  • Nirvana
  • The Cool World soundtrack
  • Mario Paint

I started playing around with a borrowed Casio keyboard, saved my money, got a Emu Proteus, fiddled around with a guitar my dad gave me, started collecting big klanking metal objects to build a drum set out of, never built it, got a drum mechine, got a NanoVerb, searched for other objects to use as experimental instruments like tape decks (which sound really cool when hold the Fwd button down halfway), all the while learning about these artists who also inspired me, but more in the sense of expanding my musical sound:

  • Aphex Twin
  • Orbital (Thanks to the Johnny Mnemonic Soundtrack)
  • Orb
  • Meat Beat Manifesto
  • Mechines of Loving Grace
  • Portishead
  • Hooverphonic
  • Tricky
  • Death in Vegas
  • Bauhaus
  • Jamouraquoi
  • Sneaker Pimps
  • Marylin Manson
  • David Bowie
  • Beck
  • Bjork
  • Uncle
  • Radiohead
  • Prodigy
  • Pitch Shifter
  • Chemical Brothers

And more recently:

  • Amon Tobin
  • Dust Brothers
  • Cold Play
  • Calexico
  • Jim White
  • Eminem
  • The Volt Per Octaves :)
  • Postal Service

To be continued... Woooh! The suspense.
